Despite New EU Regulations: Duty Free Liquids Still Allowed on Board
New European Union-wide (EU) security regulations on liquids and substances of similar consistency in carry-on baggage will take effect on November 6 at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Irrespective of these rules, travelers may continue to buy perfumes, cosmetics or alcohol in their usual product packaging at duty free, Travel Value and other shops beyond the security checkpoints in FRA's passenger terminals. Duty free and Travel Value purchases can be carried problem-free on board, provided they are sealed in a transparent bag by the shop staff, along with the sales slip bearing the same date as the day of travel.
Passengers carrying such duty free items can make flight transfers within the EU without any problems, if the bag remains closed and sealed throughout all flight legs. Special rules for duty free purchases currently apply on flights to the U.S. Passengers can obtain information on the applicable rules from their airline or in the shop where they make their purchase.
Enjoy a shopping spree at Frankfurt Airport's 17 Duty Free and Travel Value shops and take advantage of great bargains before your flight. For further information please contact your airline.
