Perishable Center Frankfurt

The Frankfurt Perishable Center is Europe's most advanced handling center for perishable goods. On total storage space of 9,000 square meters, it takes care of sorting, picking, packaging and appropriately storing up to 200,000 metric tons of fresh goods a year. It is modular in structure, with storage in 18 different climate zones permitting first-class handling of a wide range of products. Its services also include complete tax processing, documentation, EU quality control (port of first entry), picking and packing, icing of perishable cargo, and placement of flowers in water.

Animal Station

A Good Trip for Your Most Valuable Cargo

Also where animal logistics is concerned, Frankfurt Airport's CargoCity has optimum resources at its disposal. Animals travel first-class via Frankfurt: from aardvarks to zebras and from thoroughbred racehorses to colossal elephants — every animal received species-appropriate treatment and care. Frankfurt Airport is therefore the European Union's "airport of first entry" for importing animals by air.

The animals are looked after around the clock by the experienced specialists of LUG aircargo handling GmbH. Stalls and pens of different sizes, separate quarantine areas, and exemplary hygiene set the standards worldwide. For sensitive animals, a climatized trailer is available. Airmail Center Frankfurt GmbH (ACF) offers complete one-stop handling of airmail at a single location. ACF is a joint venture of Fraport AG (40%), Lufthansa Cargo AG (40%) and Deutsche Post AG (20%).

With the goal of providing faster turnaround, top quality and maximum cost-effectiveness at the Frankfurt hub, all logistical processes have been optimized with cutting-edge distribution and sorting technology and IT-assisted systems.
