Frankfurt Airport City - Check-in
Check-in
Check-in made easy.

The path to your plane starts at the airline's check-in counter.

You need your ticket, your passport (in some cases, an ID card is sufficient), and a visa if required for your destination. Your baggage is weighed, tagged and automatically conveyed to your plane. You can of course keep your carry-on luggage with you. You receive your boarding card, which tells you which gate to go to and your reserved seat. What else is important?
Make sure to arrive at your check-in counter early enough. The exact check-in time depends on your destination:

Flights to the United States and Great Britain:
Check-in 3 hours before flight

Flights inside Europe:
Check-in 2 hours before flight

Flights to any other destinations:
Check-in 2 hours before flight

Tip for early departures:

If you have to catch a very early flight, some airlines let you conveniently check in the evening before. This will leave you enough time to drink a cup of coffee in the morning. Check-in the evening before

Tip for those arriving by train:

If you arrive at the long-distance train station, you can take advantage of another convenient way of checking in: at the Check-in T desk on the way from the station to Terminal 1.

Tip on immigration requirements:

To find out if there are any special documentary or health requirements for entering your country of destination, you can check our travel and country information. Or contact your airline or travel agent.
