The air traffic statistics — whether we're talking about passengers, airfreight, airlines or target groups — underscore not only the global importance of this airport, but also and above all the indispensable role it plays in today's mobile economy and society. This is challenging the limits of its capacities — today, but especially with a view to tomorrow. The global demand for mobility will grow more dynamically over the next 10 years than ever before. At Frankfurt Airport, for example, the number of passengers arriving and departing each year will climb up to 88 million by 2020. That is why we have already begun expanding to meet future needs.
