Airport Fees — An Important Basis for Us All

Airport fees are an important factor in an airline's site costs. And as the operator of Frankfurt Airport, we do everything we can to help airlines keep their costs under control. This has prompted us to keep the unavoidable fee increases as small as possible while mainly adding them to the passenger charges.

The other restructuring measures taken in 2005 have been minor. The noise factor for nighttime takeoffs and landings has been broken down into two parts: nighttime 1 and nighttime 2. The system of charging fixed fees based on the measured noise levels has been retained, however. By charging more for nocturnal aircraft movements, and especially those during the nighttime 2 hours and those that are particularly noisy, we are consistently complying with the relevant points of Fraport AG's "10 Point Program". New is a security charge, reflecting the constantly rising expenditures for security measures. This charge was adjusted for passengers as of September 15, 2005.
